Driving the Sea to Sky highway from Vancouver to the Whistler and Blackcomb sky area is a rare treat in scenery. A stop en-route at Shannon Falls makes the project even better. Tours of the Olympic venues are offered for those who are interested enough to make the effort to see the venues while under construction. The ski jumps, cross country circuits and biathalon tracks are state of the art, as is the sliding center for bob sleigh, luge and skeleton. No where else in the world are there better facilities than these.
The Whistler & Blackcomb ski hills themselves will be the locale for the actual downhill competitions
To top it off, wandering through the village of Whistler itself is a great way to spend the afternoon.
