In June/July of 2016 there was a huge bush fire around the town of fort McMurray, Alberta, Canada. Lasted a long time, and burned out thousands of hectares of land, including parts of the town. "Fort Mac" was totally evacuated on very short notice. WestJet airlines broke all the rules and allowed the evacuees to take their house pets on board the aircraft with them. This was much appreciated by everyone.
