Geraldton

Geraldton is another of those small towns on the edge of eastern Australia. Like Port Hedland, it is a primarily mining and cattle station, but offers a few more attractions for tourists. Because of its location along the Batavia Coast Geraldton offers much in the way of wind surfing, boating, sailing and fishing. br/There are also a number of nature parks in the area, the Greenough Wildlife amp; Bird Park being a well known one for its efforts in saving native animal species. br/There is a very nice memorial to the crew of HMAS Sydney, the ship that was sunk during a battle with a German raiding ship back in 1941.
