Queen Creek Olive mill
We took a Fridays and went out to the Olive Mill in Queen Creek, Mesa, AZ. The owner had a couple of car dealersahips in Detroit back in the ‘80’s and decided that he’d like to branch out. He did some investigating, went to southern Europe as part of the education needed and returned with a degree in Olive propogation and moved to Queen Creek to plant and open the mill.
It’s a really great idea, as the climate here is the best for growing olives, even better than Spain or Greece. They have this store area and restaurant, and when you go it is worth the $7 to take the tour. The fellow giving the talks and tours is marvellous and knows his subject matter well.
Prices for bought commodities are not cheap, but the quality is the best … and the lunch and dinner menus are wonderful. It’s a must see for a day when you have the time.
